The brand new Octavia vRS
The newly configured front section features four full-LED headlights, with adaptive front-lighting system (AFS), and LED side-mounted headlights housed in the bumper.
At the back, there’s a black diffuser element and broad red reflector lamp, as well as LED-technology license plate illumination and trademark C-shaped tail lights.
On the inside, vRS sport seats, available in leather and fabric or Alcantara, provide plenty of lateral support through their high sides and integrated headrests.
The multi-function sports steering wheel has a perforated leather crown and shift paddles on cars with direct shift gearbox (DSG). Ambient lighting comes as standard. The recesses of the door handles are illuminated, the pedals shine in an aluminium finish and the kick plates bear the vRS logo.
Simply clever features include an umbrella under the passenger seat and a removable LED lamp in the boot (estate only).
The sports suspension is 15mm lower and the rear track 30mm wider than the previous Octavia vRS. Standard 18-inch wheels or optional 19-inch wheels with red brake calipers complete the look.
Progressive steering, performance mode select with performance sound generator (optional), and the stability program, ESC with electronic cross barrier XDS+ are all available. Together with Dynamic chassis control (DCC), which allows the driver to choose between comfort, normal or sport modes, to these features provide the most responsive, dynamic and versatile driving experience yet.
The 2.0 TDI has an output of 184PS and a maximum torque of 380Nm from 1,750rpm, accelerating from 0 to 62mph in 7.9 seconds through to its top speed of 144mph. The combined fuel consumption and emissions are 62.8mpg and 119 g CO2/km, all values: hatchback with manual transmission. The 2.0 TDI is available either with front-wheel drive (manual or six-speed DSG) or four-wheel drive and six-speed DSG.
Infotainment and ŠKODA Connect
The Octavia vRS features the latest generation of infotainment systems.
Driver assistance systems
The array of driver assistance systems in the new Octavia vRS sets new standards in the compact class. New features include trailer assist, which manoeuvres the car when reversing with a trailer at low speeds, blind spot detection, which warns the driver of vehicles in the blind spot, and rear traffic alert, which monitors side and rear traffic when leaving a parking space.
Crew protect assist closes windows and sunroofs in the event of an imminent accident, tightens driver and passenger seatbelts and works in conjunction with the improved front assist – which includes city emergency braking and predictive pedestrian protection.
