Simpsons SKODA will partner with the award winning B Corp ClimateCare to offset emissions
Simpsons SKODA, has announced ambitious plans to work towards making the 75-year-old business carbon neutral. Through its ‘Vision Zero’ plan it will work with partners, customers and staff to improve its carbon reduction performance and be a driving force in creating a vision of the sustainable business of the future.
In the initial phase of ‘Vision Zero’ Simpsons SKODA has provided funding to offset the emissions created by the usage of its own vehicles, motorsport team and the entire premises of operations at its retail locations in Preston and Colne.
To achieve these plans Simpsons SKODA will work with award-winning profit with purpose company, ClimateCare. The team at ClimateCare are trusted by some of the world’s leading organisations to deal with complex issues around climate and sustainability.
Neil Simpson, Managing Director of Simpsons SKODA, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be starting this futuristic journey, today.
“Working with our partners, staff and customers, our goal is to reduce our negative environmental footprint, and in the long-term, to create a carbon neutral Simpsons SKODA.
“These are relatively uncharted waters for a family-owned automotive retailer, but we’re determined to improve our impact on the environment.
“Working with our partners, we want to improve our performance and be a driving force in creating a vision of the sustainable business of the future.”
ClimateCare’s Director of Partnerships, Robert Stevens, explains: "We work with forward-thinking organisations to turn their climate responsibilities into positive outcomes. Our trademark Climate+Care approach helps organisations take a smart approach to addressing their environmental impacts by offsetting their residual carbon emissions through projects that also support sustainable development”.
They are currently working on some exciting plans to also offset emissions created by their customer’s new cars and will look to announce these plans very soon.
We have a Vision Zero.
We know that we’ll have a long way to go. And that we’re unlikely to achieve this goal in the immediate future. But we’re starting this journey today.
Working with our partners, staff and customers, our goal is to reduce our negative environmental footprint, and in the long term to create a carbon neutral Simpsons SKODA business.
We are aware that it will be difficult, perhaps seeming even impossible at times, since certain decisions will always remain beyond our control.
But we will do our best, working with our partners, to improve our performance and be a driving force in creating a vision of the sustainable business of the future.
We’re not starting from scratch. What we’re doing now is setting some ambitious goals which we know will be hard to achieve.
